Top 3 pregnancy-safe moisturizers
If you stop to think about it, the goal of your moisturizer is to sink into your skin and hydrate. This means the ingredients (including some serious no-nos) are penetrating your skin! All the more reason to reach for more natural face moisturizers during our pregnancies. Our Top 3 favorite formulas are lightweight, hydrating, and most importantly pleasantly fresh (not too earthy) smelling.
What criteria did we use to select our top three pregnancy-safe picks? Learn about our process here.
Why we love it:
This cream has a nice light consistency that makes it super easy to apply. Plus, it's packed with vitamin C which we always hear is great for our skin, and the cream's scent is fresh and citrusy, which we feel works well with our morning sickness (as opposed to against it!). You can buy this moisturizer online from Amazon or pop into Whole Foods and pick it up.
Why we love it:
The aptly named Tidal literally feels like a splash of water on your face; refreshing, cooling, and hydrating. Rather than feeling thick and slathered on, this cream penetrates & plumps, leaving you ultra-moisturized, but without the weight and grease of the average moisturizer. The natural scent doesn’t stay with you all day, unlike other earthier moisturizers. You’re skin is left looking bright and feeling relieved of any tightness that comes along with drying, while the lightweight formula wards off pesky pregnancy breakouts. While not all Sunday Riley products are suitable for pregnancy (some of her other powerful products contain retinol), it is an ingredient conscious brand.
One of our favorite clean beauty brands is Herbivore Botanicals - they've somehow perfected how to balance luxury and simplicity in all of their products. Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Creme comes in a beautiful glass container and has a delicate rose scent, while the the formula feels very lightweight and not the least bit greasy. The moisturizer hydrates and soothes, while rosewater helps to combat the appearance of redness in skin. We love applying this morning or night!

Remember, every pregnancy is different, and we are not medical professionals, so if you’re concerned about any product we mention, please talk to your doctor to make sure you’re 100% comfortable with what you’re using on your body. We did our best to sort out what we feel are the best pregnancy-friendly options out there by conducting extensive research, including: talking with our own doctors, scouring the internet, sifting through product reviews, and chatting with other moms-to-be. We hope our research helps you find products that make you feel great!
