Top 3 pregnancy-safe Non-Toxic NAil Polish Brands

Enter pregnancy, a time where one of the more manageable areas to help us feel pampered & pulled together (when we’re not) is a fresh mani-pedi. Enter Google, and wait, nail polish can be toxic? But worry not, moms-to-be can choose to paint their nails with non-toxic nail polish from wellness-savvy brands that ditch potentially harmful ingredients like toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, triphenyl phosphate (TPHP), ethyl tosylamid, and xylene (all of which was in almost every single nail polish you’d find at your local CVS until fairly recently).  Here are our top three picks for non-toxic, pregnancy-safe nail polish brands:

Butter London

Why we love it:

We first discovered Butter London from TheBump. Their “8 Free” is formulated without Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, DBP, Toluene, Camphor, Ethyl Tosylamide, Xylene, or TPHP.

 Pacifica

Why we love it:

After reading about Pacifica in WellandGood, we were happy to discover the nail polish costs only $9 per bottle (less expensive than our other favorites) and the brand is conveniently sold at Whole Foods. 7 FREE is formulated without parabens, phthalates (dibutyl phthalate), toluene, xylene, camphor, formaldehyde, resin.

Ella + Mila

Why we love it:

Like Pacifica, all Ella + Mila nail polishes are 7-free (plus how cute is their baby elephant logo?) We found this nail polish on Amazon, but FYI, the company also offers free shipping on all orders placed through their website!

Remember, every pregnancy is different, and we are not medical professionals, so if you’re concerned about any product we mention, please talk to your doctor to make sure you’re 100% comfortable with what you’re using on your body. We did our best to sort out what we feel are the best pregnancy-friendly options out there by conducting extensive research, including: talking with our own doctors, scouring the internet, sifting through product reviews, and chatting with other moms-to-be. We hope our research helps you find products that make you feel great!
