How Can You Support Your Pregnant Daughter?
Lend a Listening Ear: Just be there! Show you support her emotionally as she navigates her way through the ups and downs of pregnancy.
Allow her to vent. She might be stressed, anxious or just overly emotional. Not only are her hormones working in overdrive, but her life is completely changing and shifting in every way, and that can be a lot to manage!
Let her know you’re thinking of her. Send a quick text or email to ask how she’s feeling. Better yet, send her a card in the mail. (There’s something comforting about getting “snail mail” from your mom!)
Relate to her. Share some of your memories of pregnancy. What was your favorite part? What did you struggle with? Pregnancy can feel isolating at times, and it’s nice to be reminded that others have walked in your shoes. (Plus it’s really cool to think of your mom in this way!)
